BACKGROUND
Autrey received his degree in business from Jacksonville University and went on to serve in the U.S. Army Security Agency, where he received his electronics maintenance training. He holds various journeyman and master electrician licenses and certification in 13 states. Autrey is also a Florida State Certified General Contractor. He cites is proudest achievement as “serving as President with my Dad and Board Chairman in the office next door.”

COMPANY INFORMATION
Miller Electric was founded in 1928 by an immigrant German engineer, Henry G. Miller. H.E. “Buck” Autrey became company owner and president in 1966. Ron Autrey was named company president in 2003. Since Ron joined the company, Miller Electric has expanded into seven states and nine offices, while increasing revenue from $80 million to more than $300 million in five years. Miller Electric does all types of electrical construction and maintenance, as well as telecommunications cabling, transportation systems wiring, and design of ITS projects.

INVOLVEMENT WITH NECA
Miller Electric has always been an active member of NECA, with Ed Witt, Sr., as past District III Vice President, and Ron’s father Buck Autrey serving as past national NECA President.

Autrey has served on local committees and his chapter’s board for 30 years, including as governor for the past 10 years. On the national level, Autrey has been a member of the Government Affairs and Workforce Development committees and the NJATC. He currently serves as chairman of the Political Leadership Council.

OUT OF THE OFFICE
Autrey loves to fly-fish in fresh and saltwater and cruising with his wife Hilah on their motoryacht. They are both actively involved in the lives of their children and grandchildren.
